About the ODT Format
ODT is the open-standard word processing format used by LibreOffice Writer and Apache OpenOffice. It provides rich document formatting capabilities similar to DOCX but is based on the open ODF standard, making it vendor-neutral and future-proof.
ODT is part of the OpenDocument Format (ODF) standardized as ISO/IEC 26300 in 2006. It was developed by the OASIS consortium as an open alternative to proprietary document formats.
