1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Online Convert File, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

2. Description of Service

Online Convert File provides a free file conversion service using two methods:

• Browser-based conversion (images & utility tools) — Image conversions and utility tools (QR code generator, Base64 encoder, image compressor, password generator, color picker) are performed entirely in your browser using JavaScript and the Canvas API. No files are uploaded to our servers for these conversions.
• Server-side conversion (video, audio & documents) — Video, audio, and document conversions require uploading your files to our server. Files are processed using industry-standard open-source tools (FFmpeg for video/audio, LibreOffice for documents). All uploaded files and conversion results are stored temporarily and automatically deleted — within 60 minutes for video, 30 minutes for audio, and 10 minutes for documents.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use our service only for lawful purposes. You must not use our service to:

• Convert or process files that violate copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights
• Convert or distribute illegal content, including but not limited to content that is obscene, defamatory, or harmful
• Upload malicious files (viruses, malware, trojans) to our server-side conversion tools
• Attempt to disrupt or interfere with the security or functionality of the service
• Use automated scripts or bots to access the service in a way that causes excessive load
• Circumvent any technical limitations, rate limits, or restrictions of the service
• Attempt to access, download, or interfere with other users' conversion files on the server

4. File Upload & Processing (Server-Side Conversions)

When using our video, audio, or document conversion tools, the following terms apply:

• You are solely responsible for the files you upload. You must have the legal right to upload and convert any file you submit.
• Files are uploaded over an encrypted HTTPS connection and stored in isolated temporary directories.
• All uploaded files, converted outputs, and associated metadata are automatically deleted — within 60 minutes for video, 30 minutes for audio, and 10 minutes for documents — regardless of whether the conversion succeeded, failed, or was abandoned.
• We do not read, inspect, analyze, copy, or share the contents of your files. Files are only processed by automated conversion tools.
• We are not responsible for any data loss during the conversion process. Always keep backups of your original files.
• File size limits apply: video (2 GB), audio (500 MB), documents (100 MB), PDF tools (50 MB). Image conversions have no file size limit as they are processed locally in your browser.
• Server-side conversions are subject to concurrency limits. You may be queued during periods of high demand.
• Only one active server-side conversion is allowed per IP address at a time. Attempting to start a second conversion while one is already running will be blocked.

5. IP Address Logging & Abuse Prevention

To protect the integrity and availability of our free service, we collect and store limited technical data for each server-side conversion:

• Your IP address is logged alongside the conversion type, input/output format, file size, and timestamp.
• This data is stored in a local database on our server and is used exclusively to detect and prevent abuse, enforce fair-use limits, and generate anonymous internal usage statistics.
• This data is never shared with third parties and is not used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond service protection and improvement.
• For browser-based conversions (images and utility tools), only the conversion format is logged — no IP address or file data is recorded.

We reserve the right to temporarily or permanently block IP addresses that engage in abusive behavior, including but not limited to automated bulk conversions, denial-of-service attempts, or deliberate circumvention of rate limits.

6. Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of all files you convert using our service. We do not claim any rights over your content.

The Online Convert File website, including its design, code, logo, and content, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of our website without explicit written permission.

7. Advertisements

Online Convert File displays advertisements provided by Google AdSense to support the cost of running this free service. By using our service, you acknowledge that:

• Advertisements may be displayed on pages throughout the website.
• Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and web beacons to serve personalized ads based on your browsing history.
• You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
• We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of conversion results
• Warranties that uploaded files will be successfully processed or not corrupted during conversion

We recommend always keeping backups of your original files before conversion.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Online Convert File shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use our service.

This includes, without limitation, any damages resulting from files that are corrupted, lost, or improperly converted during the server-side processing of video, audio, or document files.

Our total liability for any claim related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service (which is zero, as our service is free).

10. Third-Party Services

Our service uses the following third-party services and technologies:

• Google AdSense — For displaying advertisements
• Google Analytics — For anonymous usage analytics
• Google Fonts — For typography
• Cloudflare CDN — For delivering JavaScript libraries
• FFmpeg — Open-source software used for server-side video and audio conversion
• LibreOffice — Open-source software used for server-side document conversion

These services are subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

11. Service Availability

We strive to maintain continuous availability of our service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to:

• Modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without notice
• Perform maintenance that may temporarily interrupt access
• Limit or restrict access to the service for any reason
• Impose or change file size limits, rate limits, and concurrency limits

12. Privacy

Your use of our service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms of Service by reference. Please review it carefully to understand how we handle your data and files.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of the service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts.
